Big Bash
Wednesday 6th May came around quickly and the big bash was here in aid of breast cancer. The rolling draw was to start at 8 o’clock so I arrived at Lindholme fishery early for a breakfast before the draw. My draw bag hand is just not working I drew peg 59 on Willows, not my favourite lake but a short walk from the car.
With plenty of time to set up I set up plenty of options, pellet waggler, bomb, and about four pole rigs for both the deep water and the inside. None of which really worked for me through the match and all I was catching was small barbel of about 4oz and a couple of stockies. At the end of the match I guessed I had less than 10lb in the net and wasn’t going to weigh. I packed my gear away and as I was about to empty my net I was told 12lb was winning my section so as the scales were on the next peg I decided to weigh, not enough with just over 9lb. Steve Rothery on Bonsai won the 215 peg match with 108lb. I had a little luck in the raffle winning a radio-controlled helicopter.
Thursday saw me back at Lindholme with the Tykes on Bonsai, I drew 78 on the island. This proved to be a hard match after the big bash the previous day and I ended up with just 35lb of small carp on the pole and the method.
